PBOT's Southwest in Motion plan describes dispersed development, hilly terrain and natural features across its study area. For your move, the important information is the condition of the particular street, driveway and entrance you will use.
If the approach has a slope, sharp turn or limited turnaround room, send photos and any useful measurements. Include the intended loading position, overhead clearance and the route from there to the door. The vehicle's ability to enter a driveway needs to be reviewed before relying on that plan.
Describe the surface between the truck and the home
PBOT documents unpaved streets and streets without curbs in parts of Southwest Portland. The relevant detail for a move is the actual surface available for loading and carrying at the property.
Tell us if the path includes gravel, uneven ground, steps or a narrow passage. Photos help explain where the vehicle may stand and how belongings would reach the entrance. If another entrance or loading location is being considered, include its access and any permission needed.

Plan the route to the final room

The estimate considers the actual carrying and handling required. Stairs are a time factor, rather than an automatic standalone stair surcharge. Share slopes, long carries and unusual access before the quote so the work can be reviewed, along with any specialty items.
What if my furniture is spread across several levels?
List the larger items on each level and where they should go at delivery. Describe the stairs and turns connecting those rooms. Flag unusually heavy items, including anything around 250 pounds or more, with its dimensions and approximate weight.
