One piece, a room or the larger items in your move
You can request help with an individual item, several pieces or furniture moving within a property. Tell us what is being moved, where it starts and the exact room or floor it needs to reach.
For a seller pickup, provide the address, release contact and collection window. Share photos before the purchase pickup is arranged. You handle buying the item and making sure the seller is ready to release it.
- Furniture photos, dimensions and approximate weight when known.
- Pickup and destination addresses, rooms and floors.
- Collection deadline or access contact for a seller pickup.
- Removable parts, fragile surfaces and requested assembly.
Measure the journey as well as the furniture
Look at the door opening, the turn immediately after it and the next narrow point along the route. Stair landings, hallway corners and elevator interiors can determine whether a large piece has a workable path.
Send measurements and photos if clearance is uncertain. Identify removable legs, table leaves or sectional components. Fit needs review before the move; a piece fitting in the final room does not mean it can pass through every doorway.
Plan disassembly with the piece’s construction in mind
Beds, tables and some modular pieces may need to come apart. Share the model or assembly instructions when available, and tell us about missing hardware, loose joints or previous repairs.
Furniture construction varies. Some assembled pieces tolerate repeated disassembly better than others, so the preparation should follow the particular item rather than a blanket rule. Requested disassembly and assembly add to the moving time.
Protect the surfaces and separate delicate components
Point out glass, decorative edges, loose shelves, unusual finishes and any fragile attachments. Discuss which parts need packing or separate protection before the piece is carried.
Appropriate blankets, wrap, straps and moving equipment are used for the agreed work. Applicable materials and packing are additional. Heavy or unusually delicate items need individual review before acceptance and any specialty charge are confirmed.
Choose carrying help or transportation as well
For furniture moving within the property or into a vehicle you arranged, labor only may fit. Two movers are $140 per hour with a two hour minimum, a $280 minimum service charge.
For a move between addresses with transportation included, a truck and two movers are $160 per hour with a three hour minimum, a $480 minimum service charge. The minimum still applies to a single item.
Have the destination ready before unloading
Decide on the furniture’s final position and make the room accessible. Let us know if an existing piece needs to move within the home to make room, so that work is included rather than discovered on arrival.
Items around 250 pounds or heavier, and other unusual handling situations, need specialty review. Report changes to the destination floor or access early because they can alter the handling even when the furniture is unchanged.
Before you book
Can you move just one sofa or bed?
Yes. Send the item details and the complete route between its current and final positions. The relevant labor only or truck included minimum still applies.
Can you collect furniture from a seller?
Share the item photos, dimensions, pickup address, collection window and release contact, plus delivery access. You arrange the purchase and the seller’s agreement to release the item. The moving scope can then be reviewed.
What if I do not know whether the sofa fits?
Measure the sofa and the tightest doorways, corners, stair landings or elevator openings. Send photos of the route and identify removable parts. Fit needs review before the move is agreed.
Can furniture be moved upstairs without hiring a truck?
Yes, you can request that as labor only. Include the furniture, starting floor, destination floor and staircase details. Heavy or unusual pieces still need a handling review.
Can you take apart and assemble a bed?
Include the bed type, photos and assembly instructions if available. Disassembly and assembly can be part of the agreed work and estimated time. Tell us about unusual construction or attached components.
Should I take glass shelves out before moving day?
Discuss the piece and its preparation before removing components. Glass and other delicate parts may need separate packing. If parts are already removed, label them and keep the associated hardware identifiable.
Does a heavy armoire need a separate review?
Yes, if it is around 250 pounds or heavier or has unusual handling needs. Send the weight if known, dimensions, photos and access at both ends. Weight alone is not enough to establish the handling plan.
Can you move my existing furniture to make room?
Include those pieces and their intended positions in the request. Extra carrying, stairs or assembly adds work even if the items stay in the home. The full scope should be reviewed together.
