Pool table moving

A pool table move is about more than getting a heavy object through the door. The slate, frame and playing surface must be handled in a deliberate sequence. IronAtlas’s pool table process includes disassembly, removal of each slate, careful wrapping and protection, transport, reassembly and leveling at the agreed destination.

Identify the table before planning the move

Send the manufacturer, model and table size if known, with clear photos of the playing surface, frame, legs and underside where safely visible. Tell us whether the table has one slate or multiple slate pieces if you have that information.

Include its current condition and any existing issues with cloth, rails, pockets or the frame. If you are buying a used table, request this information from the seller before arranging collection. Unknown construction details should be flagged rather than guessed.

  • Table brand, model and size when available.
  • Slate arrangement and approximate weight if known.
  • Photos and any existing condition concerns.
  • Pickup and destination rooms, floors and access routes.

Disassemble and protect the individual components

The agreed process begins by disassembling the table and removing each slate. The slate pieces and table components are carefully wrapped and protected for the move.

Slate handling needs to be planned around the actual table and access. Disassembly is part of the moving sequence, so tell us if the table is already in pieces or has been partly dismantled. Identify which components and hardware are available before the appointment.

Plan a route for every part of the table

Provide the full path out of the pickup room and into the destination, including doors, stairs, landings, turns and loading access. Photos and measurements of tight areas help establish the handling needs.

A table that can be taken apart still has heavy and awkward components. Stairs, a basement entrance or a long carry can change the crew and equipment requirements. The item and both routes need review before acceptance and specialty pricing are confirmed.

Transport, reassemble and level in the chosen position

After the protected components are transported, the table is reassembled and leveled at the agreed destination. Choose the intended position before setup so the work is directed to the place you want to play.

Check the room for both the table footprint and cue movement around it. Walls, columns and nearby furniture can affect usable playing space even when the table itself fits. Brunswick’s room planning guide offers a useful starting point for this check.

Discuss condition, cloth and manufacturer requirements early

Tell us about worn cloth, missing parts, damaged rails or an uneven playing surface before the move. A moving request should not assume that repairs, replacement cloth or restoration are included.

Check the table’s manufacturer instructions and any applicable warranty conditions. Some manufacturers restrict covered service to authorized providers. Share those requirements before booking; this page does not claim manufacturer authorization.

Prepare a clear request for the whole move

Include both addresses, the table details, access photos, requested date and final placement. If the table is part of a larger household move, list it separately so its handling is reviewed rather than absorbed into a general furniture count.

Any specialty surcharge requires owner approval before the quote is finalized. The final scope should identify the accepted table, preparation, transport, reassembly and leveling arrangements. Changes to the staircase, destination room or table condition need review before arrival.

Before you book

Does pool table moving include reassembly and leveling?

IronAtlas’s pool table process includes disassembly, removal and careful protection of each slate, transport, reassembly and leveling. The specific table, access and final scope must be reviewed and confirmed for your booking.

Do you move the table fully assembled?

The stated pool table process uses disassembly and individual slate handling. Share the table’s construction and access so the appropriate arrangements can be reviewed rather than assuming it will be carried as one assembled piece.

Can you move a pool table from a basement?

Send the table details and photos and measurements of the stairs, landings, turns and exterior access. Basement handling depends on the table components and the complete route. Acceptance requires that review.

Can you pick up a used pool table from a seller?

Provide the seller address, release contact, pickup window, table details and photos, along with delivery access. You arrange the purchase and release of the table. The full moving scope can then be reviewed.

What if the table is already disassembled?

Tell us which pieces, slate sections and hardware are present and how they are currently stored. Photos are useful. Existing condition and missing components need to be known before transport and setup arrangements are agreed.

Do you replace the cloth or repair the table?

Replacement cloth, repairs and restoration are not assumed included in a moving request. Describe any condition concerns in advance so the agreed scope is clear before work begins.

How much room do I need around the table?

Consider the playing surface, cue length and surrounding obstructions as well as the outer table dimensions. Check a manufacturer room planning guide for your table and cues. Choose the final position before reassembly and leveling.

Will moving affect my manufacturer warranty?

Warranty conditions vary by manufacturer and table. Review the applicable documents before booking, especially any requirement for an authorized service provider. Share those conditions with the request rather than assuming moving service preserves coverage.

Can the table move be included with the rest of my home?

Yes, request it as a separately identified specialty item within the household move. Send the table information and access early so its preparation, handling and price can be reviewed alongside the ordinary furniture and boxes.

Tell us where the move starts.
