Start with the machine rather than its category
A treadmill, exercise bike or elliptical can vary substantially by model. Send the brand, model number, dimensions and machine weight if available. A photo of the identification label can help when the exact model is unclear.
Include every item in the request: benches, racks, loose weights, mats and accessories as well as the larger machines. Individual acceptance depends on the item and route. Items around 250 pounds or heavier are flagged for specialty review.
- Brand, model and equipment weight, not only the user weight limit.
- Overall dimensions and photos of the complete machine.
- Starting and destination room, floor and address.
- Manuals and any known transport or disassembly instructions.
Measure the route before assuming the machine folds or fits
Check door openings, hallway turns, stairs, landings and overhead clearance. Include elevator dimensions if one is involved. Photos of the narrowest points help explain the move as well as photos of the equipment.
Some machines have transport wheels or folding features, but those features do not establish suitability for a staircase or a particular moving route. Describe the actual path and leave model specific handling to the agreed plan.
Keep manufacturer preparation instructions with the request
Look for the correct manual and share any instructions on moving, securing or disassembling the machine. Precor, for example, provides model specific assembly, safety and maintenance documents through its product guides.
Tell us about power connections, screens, cables, attachments and any parts already removed. Technical disconnection, servicing, calibration or installation are not assumed included. Agree on who prepares those systems before the physical move.
Plan home gyms and small facility moves by item
For a home gym, explain whether the equipment is moving to another room, another floor or a new home. Include the garage or basement approach if that is the available entrance.
For a fitness room in a workplace, apartment property or other business, provide an equipment list and building contact. Identify any operating hours and keep the intended carrying area separate from active users. Each machine’s handling and preparation needs to be reviewed.
Choose the destination before the move begins
Have the final position in mind and check the equipment’s manufacturer guidance for operating space and setup. Placement for moving purposes should not be confused with technical installation or confirmation that the machine is ready for use.
Keep loose weights and accessories grouped and identified without overloading boxes. Tell us what you want assembled or positioned so that work can be considered in the scope. Structural or floor capacity questions should be resolved with the appropriate property or technical professional.
Get the crew, transportation and handling confirmed together
Labor only may fit a move within the property or into transportation you arranged. Movers with a truck can be requested for a move between addresses. Neither choice bypasses the equipment review.
The model, weight, preparation and access help determine the suitable arrangements. Any specialty surcharge requires owner approval before the quote is finalized. Send changes to the machine or route before the appointment.
Before you book
Can you move a treadmill to another floor?
Send the treadmill model, weight, dimensions and photos of the full staircase, including turns and landings. The machine and route need review before the move is accepted. A folding deck or transport wheels do not by themselves establish that it can use the stairs.
Can you move exercise bikes and ellipticals?
You can request them for review. Provide the model, dimensions, weight and access at both locations. Include screens, arms or attachments that may affect the size and preparation.
Will you take my gym equipment apart?
Share the manufacturer’s instructions and describe any disassembly required. The exact work must be agreed for the model. Technical servicing, electrical work and calibration should not be assumed part of moving assistance.
What if I cannot find the equipment weight?
Send the brand, model and a photo of the identification label if available. Use the equipment weight from the product information, not the maximum user weight. Mark missing details as unknown so they can be reviewed.
Can you help with a home gym without a truck?
Yes, a move within the property may suit labor only. Include every item and the route to its new position. Service minimums apply, and heavy or unusual items still require acceptance review.
Can you move a gym room at a business or apartment property?
Send the equipment list, building access and contact, requested dates and any operating restrictions. The physical moving scope can be reviewed by item. Do not assume technical installation or a full facility commissioning service is included.
Should I disconnect the machine before you arrive?
Follow the model’s instructions and agree on preparation responsibilities in advance. Tell us about electrical connections and components needing technical attention. Do not attempt unfamiliar disassembly solely to make the item look ready.
Can I use the equipment immediately after placement?
Follow the manufacturer’s setup and inspection instructions before use. The moving scope should distinguish physical placement from any reassembly, technical checks or servicing required for that model.
